One Day Redesign Project
So I gave myself one whole day to redesign the homepage of one of the worlds largest airlines. United.com has so much potential and since airline travel is mainly about service, I think the opportunity to design and implement a beautiful and simple online experience is a great one.
A couple of caveats though. In no way shape or form did United ask me, pay me or intend for me to do this. This is simply a personal design exercise. That being said I also lacked access to any and all United brand assets including fonts, imagery and logos. I scrapped together what I could using what I had and what I could find. And lastly, this is a one day exercise to showcase a concept. Simple. It is not a full UX and IA endeavor. I cranked out as much as I could in a few hours to sketch what the future of United.com could be. Nothing more.
My goals were few and easy to obtain. I wanted to modernize the look and feel. I also wanted to simplify the experience and remove clutter. I also wanted to provide United with a platform to convey humanity and warmth. And finally I tried to sketch what the site would do for customers on smartphones and tablets.
Please feel free to comment and provide feedback. I would love to know what you think.
